African Development Bank names Jacques Edjangue as Acting Vice President, People and Talent Management Complex

The African Development Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jacques Edjangue as Acting Vice President, People and Talent Management Complex, effective 20th June 2022.
Edjangue, a Cameroonian national, is currently Acting Director of the Human Resources Management Department, and also Director of the Language Services Department. A thought leader, Jacques has broad and diverse experience within the African Development Bank.

African Development Bank VP Mateus Magala appointed Minister of Transport and Communication in Mozambique

Dr. Mateus Magala, Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Services at the African Development Bank, has been appointed Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Mozambique.
The nomination was announced on 13 June by President Filipe Nyusi.
Magala assumed his tenure at the African Development Bank in September 2018 with a mandate to deliver efficient, people-centered, client-oriented services to ensure overall institutional effectiveness.

Gabon: African Development Bank and Government host national consultations to review the Country Diagnostic Note and Country Strategy Paper 2016-2022

The African Development Bank will join the Gabonese Government to host national consultations on the Country Diagnostic Note and Country Strategy Paper for the 2016-2022 period in Libreville, from 21 to 24 June. Key stakeholders in the discussions will include the Ministry of Recovery and Economy, technical departments of sectoral ministries, financial partners, civil society, academics and the private sector.

In 2021, Africa notches strong progress in building tax transparency, tackling illicit financial flows

African countries’ requests for information for tax collection purposes rose 26% over the previous year, signaling continued progress toward tax transparency in spite of a challenging environment,  according to a report by The Africa Initiative, launched on Tuesday in Nairobi.
