President Hoyer and the EIB in Washington DC

An EIB delegation led by President Werner Hoyer, with the participation of Vice-Presidents Ambroise Fayolle and Thomas Östros, visited Washington DC on 25 and 26 August for high-level meetings with the US Administration, multilateral development institutions and leading think tanks on climate action and the forthcoming COP27 (6-18 November in Egypt), energy transition, Ukraine’s reconstruction and the global economic outlook as a result of the war in Ukraine.

ONGOING EVALUATION. ADB’s Independent Evaluation Department (IED) will undertake an examination of ADB's investment and credit risk management of NSO covering the period 2009–2021. The evaluation will seek to assess the relevance and effectiveness of ADB’s investment and credit risk management policies, processes, tools, systems, and organization.

US government announces $5 million grant to support African Development Bank in tackling methane emissions

The United States government has announced it will provide a $5 million grant to the African Development Bank to support efforts to abate methane gas emission, across Africa. Methane accounts for about half of the net rise in global average temperature since the pre-industrial era.
