Corporate Evaluation of ADB’s Investment and Credit Risk Management of Nonsovereign Operations (2009–2021)

Cote d'Ivoire: Representatives of African Cities and local authorities learn about the functioning of financial markets

Finance directors from roughly 40 African cities and local authorities have arrived in Abidjan, the commercial capital of Cote d’Ivoire for an intensive training in tapping capital markets to finance urban infrastructure development.

These are full-time positions at grade 4/5.

This is a generic campaign in view of both current and possible future vacancies.

Indonesia: Stepping Up Investments for Growth Acceleration Program (Subprograms 1, 2, and 3)

The program aimed to improve the country’s global competitiveness to attract foreign and domestic investments, in line with ADB’s country partnership strategies (CPSs) for Indonesia, 2012–2019. This would require (i) reducing the cost of doing business, (ii) improving the private sector participation framework for developing infrastructure through new financing modalities, and (iii) improving public procurement to allow for a larger spending in infrastructure. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.

Armenia: Human Development Enhancement Program

The program identified education and health sector reforms for ADB support through a policy-based loan. The program addressed four broad areas. The first two were reducing poverty and addressing inequalities, as well as accelerating gender equality and women’s empowerment through better education and access to health services. The other two were making cities more livable by disallowing smoking in public places and supporting road safety through child-seat safety measures and strengthening governance and institutional capacity of the National Institute of Education.

2023 Annual Evaluation Review: What Explains ADB’s Project Performance, 2016–2022

ONGOING EVALUATION: The Annual Evaluation Review (AER) provides the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Board, Management, and other stakeholders with an independent, high-level perspective on development effectiveness based on findings and evidence from the Independent Evaluation Department’s (IED) evaluations and validations of ADB’s self-evaluation reports. 

Mongolia: Ulaanbaatar Air Quality Improvement Program and Ulaanbaatar Air Quality Improvement Program – Phase 2

The program consisted of two PBLs, $130 million in 2018 and $160 million in 2019. The first subprogram aimed to improve Ulaanbaatar’s air quality by implementing pollution reduction measures and improving urban infrastructure, and to provide budget support.
