Dr Juha Uitto takes office as the newly appointed Director of the GEF IEO

Juha I. Uitto started as Director of the GEF Independent Evaluation Office in September 2014. He came to the position from being the Deputy Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the United Nations Development Programme since 2009. Prior to that, he worked as Evaluation Adviser in UNDP and as Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator/Specialist with the GEF.

Canadian Evaluation Society

The Canadian Evaluation Society promotes leadership, knowledge, education, professional development and advocacy in the fi eld of evaluation; encourages a culture of evaluation within organizations; is committed to the values of propriety, feasibility, utility and accuracy and accountability; works cooperatively with the CES Educational Fund (CESEF) to further evaluation programs; and is one of the founders and an active member of The Consortium of Universities for Evaluation Education.

European Evaluation Society (EES)

The mandate of the European Evaluation Society (EES) is to stimulate, guide and promote the theory, practice and utilization of evaluation in Europe and beyond. Specifically EES seeks to advance evaluation knowledge and to encourage adoption of good practices by fostering evaluation excellence, independence and partnerships. EES activities aim to support improved enabling environments for evaluation, stronger communities of practice, relevant evaluation research and enhanced evaluation methods.

New: UNEG Resource Pack on Joint Evaluations

The United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG) recently published its Resource Pack on Joint Evaluation. The document is comprised of a guidance document which presents an overview of issues to consider when undertaking a joint evaluation (management, governance, steps), and a joint evaluations toolkit to help practitioners conduct joint evaluations which includes checklists, examples and good practices.
