The African Development Bank has signed a protocol of agreement with the African Union to support reforms that will bolster the pan-African organization’s implementation of Agenda 2063.
Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and Yacine Fal, the African Development Bank Group’s Acting Vice President for Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery, on Monday signed the protocol of agreement for the African Union Institutional Capacity Building Project in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.,

L’atelier visait aussi à valider le cadre de suivi du plan d’action et son plan de financement.

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved the establishment of a €4 million Africa Circular Economy Facility to drive integration of the circular economy into African efforts to achieve nationally defined contribution (NDC) targets.

A United Nations report has found that more than 70% of Africa’s economies are at severe risk from Russia’s war in Ukraine. The African Development Bank is one of several international organizations, including UN specialized agencies and development lenders that are considering a plan to boost food production in Africa and avert a heavy toll on the African continent.

The sector development program (SDP) aimed to address this situation through a double-pronged effort: (i) a policy-based program to strengthen countrywide water resources management, and (ii) an investment project aimed at upgrading the irrigation facilities in 15,000 hectares (ha) of irrigated paddy land. The program’s expected impact was enhanced food security. The program’s targeted outcome was improved management of water resources in Cambodia and more efficient and sustainable irrigation systems in the proposed project area.
