The African Development Bank and United Cities and Local Governments, a global umbrella group for local and metropolitan governments, have announced the launch of a new program to build the capacity of municipal chief financial officers across the continent.
The Municipal CFO Initiative was announced during the 9th Africities Summit held recently in Kisumu, Kenya.  

The 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification concluded with a united global pledge to boost drought resilience and land restoration.
The two-week meeting was held in Abidjan from 9 to 20 May 2022. It attracted Heads of State, ministers and 7,000 delegates from 196 countries, as nations sent a united call about the importance of healthy and productive land.,

African Development Bank Group President Dr Akinwumi Adesina wrapped up his official visit to Kenya on Friday, meeting with African diplomatic envoys and international development partners in Nairobi. He called for joint collaborative support to help accelerate Africa’s development.

African Development Bank Group President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina met with President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti and senior government officials at the weekend to discuss the country’s economic progress and opportunities.
Adesina was on a two-day official visit to the Horn of Africa nation. For more than two hours, he and President Guelleh discussed ways of transforming Djibouti’s economy as the country strives to achieve its vision of becoming an information, communication and technology (ICT) hub in the region.,

This paper documents the Chair's Summary of the Development Effectiveness Committee (DEC) discussion held on 13 May 2022. The committee discussed the 2021 Development Effectiveness Review (DEfR), and the 2021 Annual Portfolio Performance Report (APPR).

The regional technical assistance (TA) aimed to support the Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s goal of increasing water investments through the Water Financing Program (WFP) to respond to the water investment needs of Asia and the Pacific. The TA’s expected outcome was increased demand from developing member countries for ADB investment products and services.
This report validates the completion report's assessment of the TA.

The policy and advisory technical assistance (PATA) aimed to support the Kyrgyz Republic following its accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in 2015. Its expected impact was improved economic prospects of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the EEU. The expected outcome was improved capability of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to formulate and adopt sound economic and social policies for the country’s accession to the EEU.
