Armenia: Human Development Enhancement Program

The program identified education and health sector reforms for ADB support through a policy-based loan. The program addressed four broad areas. The first two were reducing poverty and addressing inequalities, as well as accelerating gender equality and women’s empowerment through better education and access to health services. The other two were making cities more livable by disallowing smoking in public places and supporting road safety through child-seat safety measures and strengthening governance and institutional capacity of the National Institute of Education.

Pakistan: Revitalizing the Ecosystem of Ravi River Basin

The objective of the technical assistance (TA) was to revitalize and build resilience in the Ravi River Basin in Punjab province, Pakistan through improved environmental water management. The TA aimed to address the pollution crisis by improving monitoring and enforcement capacity, filling regulatory and institutional gaps, raising awareness on pollution risks and cost-efficient ways to reduce pollution, and increasing levels of investment and public policy priority toward this crisis.
