Evidence and Gap Map, and Formative Review of ADB Support for Global and Regional Value Chains

ONGOING EVALUATION. IED will conduct an Evidence and Gap Map (EGM) exercise to establish the range of development knowledge available on interventions that support global and regional value chains (GVCs) and to characterize ADB’s support through its strategies and investments. The EGM will highlight gaps in the evidence base and show where evidence is more abundant. An ADB GVC portfolio overlay will be attempted to identify overlaps in ongoing support when compared to available evidence.

EIB and the European Union’s largest national promotional banks meet in Berlin to discuss recent initiatives and common challenges in Europe

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the five biggest European national promotional banks met to discuss the progress of existing joint initiatives, such as the Joint Initiative on Circular Economy (JICE), Quick Response — Care for Ukrainian Refugees in Europe, and Fund Marguerite. KfW CEO Stefan Wintels hosted EIB President Werner Hoyer and the other CEOs at the German promotional bank’s Berlin building.

Vice-President Kris Peeters meets Czech Ministers of Transport and Finance

On Monday 3 October, Czech Minister of Finance Zbyněk Stanjura and Minister of Transport Martin Kupka visited the European Investment Bank (EIB) for a formal meeting with Vice-President Kris Peeters and the EIB’s Central and South-eastern Europe lending team. The visit of the two ministers with their delegations comes as the Czech Republic holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and coordinates the work of the 27 EU Member States.

77th UN General Assembly meetings stress key African Development Bank priorities: climate finance, job creation, and food insecurity

The African Development Bank had several productive engagements around its strategic priorities at the just concluded 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meetings in New York.
Meeting highlights included an urgent call for increased financing to mitigate the effects of climate change and food insecurity.
