Specifically, the TA would develop e-commerce business models, provide recommendations to improve the legal and policy framework for applying e-commerce, and conduct institutional strengthening and capacity building activities.

This technical assistance (TA) project aimed to strengthen the regional economic policy mandate in the Pacific through improved effectiveness and efficiency of the Forum Economic Ministers’ Meetings (FEMM). This was to be delivered by (i) providing high-quality technical support for implementing the key FEMM mandates, (ii) developing and prioritizing a robust FEMM agenda, (iii) undertaking a strong advocacy to implement the FEMM mandate, and (iv) strengthening the economic policy team to effectively deliver the Forum leaders’ and FEMM’s priorities and mandates.

Strategy 2030 explicitly defined in 2018 the One ADB approach, committing to reinforce the uneven but increasing efforts to promote collaboration under implementation since at least 2010. ADB is now undertaking further initiatives on RMs’ role, cultural transformation, and integration of sovereign and nonsovereign operations, complementing past reforms of knowledge operations and departments.

The project investments comprised a high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) substation and a 230 kilovolts (kV) transmission line. The project’s expected impact was increased availability and sustainability of power supply in Bangladesh by 2021. Its target outcome was increased capacity for cross-border power trade between Bangladesh and India.

The project was formulated to provide better financial access to smart green energy solutions (SGES). It addressed two key barriers affecting effective demand for SGES: the lack of affordable financing and insufficient buyer and lender awareness about SGES. The project provided loans through selected microfinance institutions to households in order for them to purchase and install affordable SGES.
