African Development Bank appoints Acting Director of Human Resources

The African Development Bank Group has appointed Mr. Ifechukwude Emmanuel Ezinwa as Acting Director of the Human Resources Operations, Recruitment and Client Services Department, with effect from 1st July 2022.
Mr. Ezinwa, a Nigerian national, is currently Manager of the Human Resources, Client Relations and Staff Engagement Division. He is a seasoned people management professional, with a diverse range of international experience across the private sector and multilateral development institutions.

Rwanda, African Development Bank launch industrial policy project, targeting 200,000 jobs per year

The Government of Rwanda, in partnership with the African Development Bank’s Fund for African Private Sector Assistance, has launched a two-year project to boost industrial capacity in the country.
The Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policy in Rwanda Project (EQuIP) is worth $550,000. It will build the capacity of staff under the Ministry of Trade and Industry and its agencies, the Rwanda Development Board and the private sector to design, implement and evaluate industrial policies independently or with minimal reliance on external expertise.

Speech by Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President, African Development Bank Group, 7th Africa-Ireland Economic Forum

Your Excellencies, good afternoon. I would like to thank the Government of Ireland for inviting me to speak at this 7th Africa-Ireland Economic Forum.
I am really delighted to be with you here today for three reasons.
First, because Ireland is the newest shareholder of the African Development Bank, indeed its 81st shareholder member country. I wish to express my appreciation to Ireland for considering the African Development Bank a strategic partner in Africa.
Let me assure you: you have a good reason to be.

11th World Urban Forum: amplifying the voices of African cities

What can representatives of African cities learn from their counterparts from the rest of the world? To answer that question, the African Development Bank invited representatives of African municipalities to the 11th World Urban Forum held from 26-30 June in Katowice, Poland.  The Forum is the largest international conference addressing urban development.
