Papua New Guinea: Bridge Replacement for Improved Rural Access Sector Project

The project was in line with the National Transport Development Plan, 2006–2010, which called for improvements in a large number of bridges, including those on the 16 priority national roads and other key roads. The project aimed to focus on a list of priority bridges in five priority national roads identified by the Department of Works. Its expected impact was improved access to markets and social services for the rural population in selected provinces.
