The OECD will launch two new publications in Australia next week: a Review of Labour Market Policies and an Economic survey.

Australia’s labour market reforms over the past 15 years have boosted employment and cut welfare benefit dependency.

New evidence showing how gender equality is essential for a fairer society and stronger global economy, will be presented by the OECD at a Gender Forum in Paris on 17 December 2012.

Colombia will become the 40th Party to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention on 19 January 2013.

The OECD’s latest Economic Survey of Sweden, to be published on Monday 17 December 2012, discusses the country’s resilience to the global economic crisis as well as its capacity to cope with further external shocks, notably those posed by the continuing crisis in the euro area.

The Australian economy is robust and faces a solid short-term outlook, but it must continue adapting to ensure that its privileged place in the Asia-Pacific region contributes to long-term sustainable growth, according to the OECD’s latest Economic Survey of Australia.

Progress has been made in narrowing the gender gap in pay, especially in employment, over the past decade but much remains to be done in many countries. Women pay a high price for motherhood, with steep childcare costs and taxes deterring many from working more, according to a new OECD report.
