The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. It does so by investing in rural people. IFAD finances programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and advocates at the local, national and international level for policies that contribute to rural transformation.

Systematic and objective monitoring, evaluation, and learning from projects and programs are critical for Pacific developing member countries to achieve their development goals, panelists at a seminar organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said.

 Representatives from more than 30 regional and international development finance institutions took part in the first roundtable on the Abidjan-Lagos highway.

The African Development Bank and Madagascar’s Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene have launched the preparation stage of a project to protect and develop water resources and strengthen the nation’s climate change resilience.

The African Development Bank Group has appointed Ms Malinne Blomberg, a Swedish national, as Country Manager for Tunisia in addition to her current roles as Deputy Director General for North Africa and Country Manager for Libya and Mauritania.

The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group on 2 October 2023 approved a grant of $13.29 million to Somalia to help improve domestic revenue mobilization and public expenditure management under the Institutional Support for Economic Governance Project.
