The project’s expected impact was increased energy security. Its envisaged outcome was that customers’ access to a higher share of electricity generated by hydropower. It comprised the rehabilitation of three small hydropower plants (SHPs) in Upolu, construction of three new SHPs in Upolu and Savai’I, and provision of training to the EPC on operation and maintenance (O&M) for up to 2 years after plant commissioning of the SHPs.
