Palau: Water Sector Improvement Program
In October 2009, the government requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for support to facilitate an affordable and sustainable water and sewerage service.The Water Sector Improvement Program was subsequently discussed and agreed in May 2010. The policy-based lending modality of ADB was used to align with the government’s urgent development needs. The program supported the reform of Palau’s water and sanitation sector, focusing on improving policy and legal frameworks, institutional sustainability, and development.
