In 2006, the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a $55.2 million grant to help finance the $80 million Road Connectivity Sector I project. The project was to construct or upgrade 10 roads and one bridge—the first phase of the works planned under the 10-year midterm program, with the remainder planned for subsequent projects.
