Cambodia: Greater Mekong Subregion: Rehabilitation of the Railway in Cambodia Project

The project aimed to restore Cambodia's railway infrastructure by rehabilitating or reconstructing its existing track and reestablishing the rail connection with Thailand. It was also expected to pave the way for the proposed construction of a new railway line between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. The project's expected impact was increase in domestic and regional trade movement via the railway and a sustainable railway system. The intended outcome was a sustainable and efficiently operated railway.
