Hello All,
Have lived up here in the sticks for over 30 years. Have driven by a farm pretty much every day owned by the Dawson family. They have grown hay and worked those fields since the mid 1940's., it was built in 1820!! Words cannot describe the work ethic of these farm folks, they truly are the "Salt of the earth”.
If any of you know what it is to farm you will surely understand how hard the work is, and all the folks that they have provided hay for, for so many years surely appreciate the Dawsons' and depend on them year in and year out. It is an old farm, they do not make a lot of money, but would not want for anything else!!
Last week during a wind and rain storm, their barn (with all this years hay) collapsed, a tragedy for these folks. That is how they make their living.
We stopped by to speak with them, and asked if there was anything we could do. The response was we will do our best to rebuild, the barn is not insured for the collapse.
Basically I am writing on their behalf, if you could send a donation to them, and no amount is too small.
If you cannot, I totally understand, times are tough for many folks nowadays.
And while I'm not the most religious person you guys know, I will pray for them.
They have been married for 53 years and they love what they do. Lets' see if we can lend a hand.
Checks, money orders, quarters or pennies can be sent to:
Mr. and Mrs. Dawson 207 Stage Rd., Gilmanton Iron Works, NH 03837
Thank you all for your time,
Val
